Countus Tulpenfestival

Aside from the famous Keunkenhof, you will find the longest and colourful tulip fields from the Netherlands in the northernmost municipality of Flevoland which brings to the opening of the annual Countus Tulip Festival. The tulips typically bloom during late April and early May. During the festival, there are special routes (100km)  for the cars and bikes that you can follow to see the fascinating, blooming flowers in the Flevoland.

I'm living here in the Netherlands  for almost one year and I don't have any idea about this wonderful tulip fields. But since I checked my facebook yesterday and saw the beautiful pictures of my friend. I was curious where you could find these beautiful tulips and asked immediately my friend. I was surprised that it was just 1-hour driving from our place and checked in the internet until when you could visit it. We were lucky that today was the last day of the festival and you could visit it for free. There were some parts of the route that you would not see much tulips because it was almost end of the season and some of the flowers were harvested and sold it to the different flower shops. Lastly, I've enjoyed a lot to see this colourful fields!
