"It's not the distance that counts, it's the love." - This quote is very suited for us, Me and my Dutch boyfriend named Dennis. It was unexpected situation that we felt in love to each other inspite of different cultures and locations. But because of love, we will do everything just to be together forever.
WHO AM I?
March 03, 1989 -The day when I was born in a small town of Bamban, a 3rd class municipality in the province of Tarlac, Philippines. That was also the most a waited moment of my mother after giving birth to my three older brothers, possibly because all mothers want to have a baby girl. Luckily, I'm the only girl (three older brothers and one younger brother) in the family. Based on my experience, it was little hard for me to become the only rose among the thorns coz I didnt have someone to play with my dolls, talk with my girly talks and experience bully from my older brothers. But still I managed it properly, that I could also share with these things to my female cousin, classmate or playmate, be more responsible and independent, and having a protective mother. However, there are some advantages of it, that my brothers are always there for me if I need help with something and protect me for those who hurt me.
So I was named by my parents "Rachelle Anne" but they always call me "Anne" for the reason it is easy to say, but sometimes, others call me only "Rachelle" especially in the school. But it doesn't matter, it's up to them what they want to call me as long as it is nice to hear. So during my school days - from elementary to high school, I received many rewards from school which made me feel to put my best in everything what I have doing, want always on top and be more competitive. And also, it's nice that your parents are proud of you. But when I was in college, taking my BSN (Bachelor of Science in Nursing) degree, I realized that I'm already tired of competing and just be an average student but still doing my best. Hence, I became scholar for all my four years in college but I didn't had chance to get a reward on my Graduation Day because I had one subject that didn't reach the required grade to be included on the list of top students. I felt upset but still, it made me realize that I couldn't achieve all and experienced failure but failure doesn't mean that you are giving up. I know to myself that I may encounter obstacles in the future that I need to surpass. Like the quote of Michael Jordan, " I've failed over and over and over again in my life and that is why I succeed.
" So that was me, never give up even I encountered failures and frustrations in life and hoping that I would be succeed in my dreams, career and also to have my own happy family.
TALKING ABOUT MY HOBBIES
When I was in the elementary and high school, I love playing volleyball, baseball, chess, and badminton. I also did before sketching, painting (where I also joined some poster making contests), watching TV, listening to the radio, gardening, and cooking. But when I grew up, it was also changed some of my likes and hobbies but some still remained. When I entered college, I started to become a bookish which I should read a lot of thick, nursing books then I also learned how to join some social networking tru Internet such as Friendster, Facebook and Twitter which I loved doing it when I was free. Now, I still love playing badminton, watching TV/Movies, listening to the radio, and cooking. And I started to like writing on my blog where I can express my feelings and share my unique experiences.
WHAT MAKES ME DECIDE TO LIVE IN HOLLAND?
Simply, I want to be with my dearest Dennis, a Dutchman who captured my heart and also, we thought that we could have better life here in Holland in spite of arranging a lot of things and forcing to follow the Dutch rules.
