Saying Goodbye to my Dennis!

May 5, 2011 - Today is the flight of Dennis going back to the Netherlands after three weeks of vacation in the Philippines. It's hard for me to say good bye and see him going inside the airport but I'm looking forward that we will be together and never need to miss each other again.

Subic Adventure

Subic bay is well known as a great summer, local tourist destination for its calm waters, cool breezes and wide range of activities and accommodations wherein you can unwind and enjoy the beauty of nature. It is part of Central Luzon, specifically in the province of Zambales. It is a 3-hour drive from Manila, taking the North Luzon Expressway; and it is about 30 minutes away from Clark, where the US Air Base is located.

After our family outing in Brgy. Pundaquit, me and Dennis decided to explore more the beauty of Zambales and the rest of the family would go back home safely. We just had few days left before Dennis would go back to the Netherlands and we wanted to treasure these moments only two of us. So we stayed for two nights in one of the resorts in Barrio Barreto where  the Baloy Beach is located which was popular due to its affordable and friendly accommodation. We found out that it's very famous place for European/American  tourist who was travelling alone and want more to have fun, entertainment and night life. But it’s fairly quiet there and still you got a lot of fun things to do like sailing, diving, driving a jetski, taking a boat to one of the beautiful islands outside, or just relaxing at one of the floating bars. We enjoyed more just to sit in the beach front restaurant while watching the sun set and drinking strawberry shake. It was so relaxing on that moment.

Subic bay area is also popular for its educational theme parks and exiting, extreme adventure parks such as the Ocean Adventure, Zoobic Safari, JEST Camp, Jungle Joe's World, Treetop Adventure and Extreme Adventure Teambuilding Military Style Park. We didn't have enough time to visit all these parks but at least, we had one park that we experienced to see a variety of cetaceans and sea lions and that was the Ocean Adventure.

Ocean Adventure  is the first and most astounding nautical sanctuary in our country that showcases some of the world's most amazing sea mammals like dolphins, false killer whales and sea lions in their inherent habitat. You can also swim and dive with the dolphins or take pictures with them. Unfortunately, we didn't have experience it 'coz we didn't bring our swimming clothes. But still we enjoyed the different shows presented by the dolphins, sea lions and some animals in the park.

Zambales Family Journey

Every 30th of April, we always prepare for the birthday of my mother. We always celebrate either in beach or pool resort because it always hit during summer time. So this year, Dennis was here on birthday of Mama. I asked him if we could treat the whole family an overnight stay in beach. We never did it before and it was already years ago when we had our last beach family outing. He was agreed and besides that, it was also the time  that my family would get to know him better and be bond with them. I had my reservation in one the beautiful resorts in Zambales (Pundaquit) which has been gifted with the natural beauty of its surroundings and well known for its sandy beaches and deep blue sea teeming with coral reefs. So everything in the resort was already prepared. Only the problem was the car. Thus, instead of renting a new car, I asked my father to bring our jeepney in a repair shop so it would be safe journey for us and later on, my father could still used it in going to the farm.So we thought that our jeepney was in good condition to have a long travel of hours,. Unfortunately, when we were on the way going to the beach, had stop to refuel, my brother, Romeo (Chug) also checked if there was something problem with the jeepney. Thank God!  Every time we stopped, we saw the damaged and repaired it. But I remembered in our last stop, my father and my brother had hardly fixing the jeepney that took for two or three hours ( I think) and it almost past lunch. We decided to leave the jeepney in a repair and rent another jeepney so we could had time to relax in the resort and prepare for our food. Even we had our scary and alarming experience in our travel, still everybody enjoyed our stay there. Cooking, eating, talking, walking on the beach line, swimming and island hopping (Camara and Capones Island). Everybody had fun! I knew that my parents especially mom was so happy to see that all of us were enjoying. So, I´m looking forward to have more safe and happy family outing in the future.
